These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the You-R-Here website, native iPhone application, and related support (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Minimum Age (18+): You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may not use the Service.
You-R-Here does not require a YRH account. You are responsible for maintaining access to and protecting your device, Apple account, export passwords, and any Backup or Legacy export files you create.
The app allows you to create and store personal content, including Timelines, Events, descriptions, Artifacts, and narration ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content.
Storage: Your working library is stored locally on your device. When private iCloud synchronization is used, Apple may process and store synchronized content through its services. You-R-Here does not host your library on YRH-operated servers.
Responsibility: You are responsible for your User Content and for ensuring you have all rights necessary to add it to the app.
You agree not to misuse the Service. For example, you will not:
The Service is intended for private, personal use. Backup Export creates a portable copy that can be used with the app's replace-only Backup Restore. Legacy Export creates a separate read-only preservation copy, and the app can view supported Legacy packages without adding their contents to your active library.
You are responsible for protecting, retaining, and safely sharing any exported files. People who receive a copy may retain or share it outside the Service.
You-R-Here includes a device-local 30-day free trial. After the trial, continued use of editing features requires a one-time, non-consumable purchase through the App Store. The purchase is not recurring. If the trial ends without a purchase, your existing content and the app's read-only, Backup, Restore, and Legacy features remain available as provided in the app.
Apple processes the purchase and provides the price and applicable purchase terms shown in the App Store and in the app. Restore Purchase can be used to ask the App Store to restore an eligible prior purchase.
There is no recurring YRH plan to cancel, and the free trial does not automatically convert into a charge. App Store purchase and refund matters are handled by Apple under its applicable policies. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for more information.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may discontinue the website or support services, or take steps reasonably necessary to protect the safety, security, or integrity of the Service, subject to applicable law.
The app provides controls for managing your local library and creating Backup and Legacy exports. Deleting app data or replacing a library through Backup Restore may be permanent. Create and safely retain an appropriate export before a destructive action if you want a separate copy.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU-R-HERE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless You-R-Here and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Except where prohibited by applicable law, you agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the effective date of the current version. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice as required by law.
